Always keep your silver away from Sunlight or Florescent lights for long periods of time. Keep your jewelry in a jewelry box or jewelry bag. Use Polishing gloves to wipe away natural oils, for a vibrate shine. NEVER use at home jewelry cleaners, these products never really help the silver but can tarnish it faster.

Gold plating is a method of depositing a thin layer of gold onto the surface of another metal, most often copper or silver (to make silver-gilt), by chemical or electrochemical plating.

Typically 12 months when plated in factory.
In store Plating lasts a few months with proper care.

How do you make gold plating last longer?

Remove your jewelry before you swim in chlorine or salt water.
Remove your jewelry before participating in activities that will cause you to sweat a lot.

Wait to put on your jewelry until after you have applied lotion, makeup or perfume.
Remove jewelry if you will be bringing it into contact with something hard. (For example, take off your ring before lifting weights).

Store your plated jewelry where it won’t rub against other hard substances (a soft bag—one per piece of jewelry—is ideal).
